The church of Santa Maria al Monte is worth of attention, especially for its geographical position. It is located is located high up on the slopes of Mount Epomeo in Forio in the wood of the Falanga and it is reachable from the street Bocca near the Citara bay. This area of Forio becomes overcrowded at Santa Maria’s (September 12) Holiday, becoming the favorite destination for many people of Forio and also for those who like to walk in the mountains.
